The Turd Annual SHITR

The Most Wonderful Day of the year is quickly approaching, that’s right The Turd Annual SHITR.  The 2015 run will be held on January 10^th, with a 5 pm start time, as in past years, the course will start at the Weldon Springs Mound, and you will be running on the Lost Valley Trails.  There may or may not be a mystery event, you will have to show up to find out.  

This year we even have some sponsors on board, Mountain Khaki's, Vroom Foods, XX2i Optics and Zanfel have donated some great schwag to the event!  There may or may not be other surprises… Be sure to come and find out. 

The SHITR is also the final event on the Tortured Soles tour, so we will be joined by a slew of SHITR virgins. 

If you haven’t already signed up, please go join our FB group and sign up by clicking the “GOING” button.  We also need a count of how many will be joining us at the Mexican restaurant after the event. 

SHITR Sticker Contest

We are once again hosting the second annual Shivering Icy Trail Run, SHITR for short. 

Last year Lori made all the finishers a cool window sticker for enduring the race.  This year we are having a contest for the 2014 sticker design.  We are looking for something small enough to put on your car window and easy enough to make stickers out of. 

What do you get for all your hard work if you win?  Well you will get a pair of xx2i sunglasses, these glasses are both high quality and awesome.  Besides being the coolest looking competitor on the course, you will be the envy of all your friends when they see you wearing them,.

Guidelines:

1. Done in black and white
2. No gradients
3. Not too complicated with lots of fine lines- keep it simple.
4. Must have" Shivering Icy Trail Run"
5. Must have "2014"
6. "2nd Annual" might be something to consider but not required
7. Sizes can vary but 6"x6", 4"x10" or a similar size is the size range you should be looking at.

Go all out because we ain't into censorship, now remember some things are not appropriate for the general public to see on our adventure vehicles, but we will have a fun time judging them. 

And there is serious competition because it’s also an assignment in a local graphics arts class.  It will  be hard to beat these kids, but you do have the advantage of knowing the sport, so don’t think you can’t win.

Come Run with Us (Again)!

The inaugural SHivering Icy Trail Run was so memorable that all of us at ROCK Racing have been asked dozens of times over the summer if we would be organizing the SHITR II.  We told everyone that asked “Yes”!

Now it’s time to make good on those promises.  The SHITR II will go off on January 11, 2014 at 5pm, starting from The Mound.

Once again we will run our favorite trail - Lost Valley in Weldon Spring, MO.  Great single track, great parking, hills, fast-flowy sections, techy sections, and open after dark.  It is the perfect place for what we have planned.  And this year a section of the gravel double track has been replaced by more of the rocky singletrack we all love.

Come join us for a 13.1m trail run on some of the best singletrack in the area.

 

What could make a trail ½ marathon fun you ask?

Truthfully though it was awesome, awesome in a way that only the people sitting around those tables at the Mexican restaurant could understand.  We had all endured something together and even though I didn’t actually talk to every single person who was there I still feel a bond with everyone of them, and that is something you can’t get from a road race.
If you missed out on the race this year then you should totally feel jealous, and if you see someone trying to merge in traffic with a SHITR decal in their window you should give them room and allow them to move because they are badass and deserve your respect.  Next year the SHITR will be even better!  Don’t miss it. - (Patrick Albert, Adventurer)
